This was a great hotel. The suites were huge. Our room had one bedroom, a living/dining room, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen. Everything was new and clean. The views were amazing. Breakfast was included and was delicious. The area is around a lot of new development including a mall and huge supermarket (to rival the super Walmarts). We had the front desk arrange some great tours for us. Anything the front desk was not able to figure out for us we could go next door and ask the Marriot concierge. This was a great value for the huge rooms. It is in the same building as the Marriott and we were able to use all of the Marriott facilities, but it was half the price. None of the major tourist areas are within walking distance, but everything is an easy. Lisa and Brad, Syracuse, New York, USA.

We would certainly stay at the Boulevard Suites if ever in Santiago again. We came upon this hotel quite by accident with an internet search. The first 25 stories is the Marriott Hotel and the rest of the building is the Boulevard Suites Hotel. The Suite consisted of a very large living room with city views, a full size dining room, a full kitchen with eating area, 1 & 1/2 baths , and a very large bedroom also with city views and a large bath. The pricing also included breakfast brought to your room every morning. We thought this was a great deal at $185 a night. Also offered was free computer service located off of the lobby, the hotel also offerd tours which they arranged for you, and a surprise was that you could use all of the Marriott amenities for free and even have your drinks and meals from there put on your Boulevard account. A short walk away was a modern mall with great restaurants and shopping. Pat, Southern California, USA.

Real tourist stuff but also very convenient to cover the most popular places. The pick-up taxi was waiting for us on arrival at the airport to take us in half an hour to the Boulevard Suites. What a building! Intergrated in the Marriott Hotel in Las Condes. Not really down-town Santiago but a center in itself. Close to one of the best shopping malls of Santiago, complete with restaurants, bars, etc. The room was great with a superb view over the city. Breakfast was served in the room. The deal included a city tour by hop-on hop-off bus. Akulon, Maastricht, Netherlands
Trip Advisor.com - March 30, 2005 - "Boulevard Suites, Great apartment / Hotel"
We were extremely pleased with the Boulevard Suites - incredibly spacious, beautiful modern/minamilist decor, fully equipped kitchen, and stunning wrap-around view of Santiago (all the suites are on the 25th floor or higher). For the price of one room at the Hyatt, we got a full suite (ours had 2 bathrooms), daily breakfast, free parking, high speed internet, and access to the fitness centre/spa/pool at the Marriott next door (it is so close that we mistook the Boulevard Suites entrance as one of the front entrances to the Marriott - in fact, the Marriott porter unloaded our luggage as they share the same driveway). The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. As with the Hyatt, the location is a bit out-of-the-way therefore you need to rely on car or taxi to get to tourist areas. However, there is a huge mall next door (with a lot of U.S. names and U.S. prices) that is anchored by 3 department stores and a well stocked grocery store (Lider chain). The Boulevard Suites also has a free grocery shopping service. The Marriott provides a lot of the services (room service, laundry, etc.) so if you need restaurants, lounge, etc. there is a walkthrough door in the lobby. We would definitely come back here again.
Trip Advisor.com - November 22, 2008 - "Great value for money and lots of space"
This is an all-suite hotel occupying the the top half of the Marriott Tower, presently the tallest structure in Chile. We flew into SCL early in the day, rented a car and lined up 3 four-star hotels to view before deciding. Boulevard Suites won hands-down: it had by far the largest rooms (separate lounge/dining area, separate kitchen, huge amounts of hanging space), spectacular views (in our case towards the Andes), complimentary underground parking and proximity to a very comprehensive upscale shopping centre (Mall Parque Arauco) and hypermarket. The other two hotels (well-known four star international brands incidentally) had small and dark rooms by comparison.
Many services are provided by the adjacent Marriott (which had no rooms available so is not one of the abovementioned two): This includes health club / pool, and we also used their concierge desk. The Boulevard Suites shares the same driveway as the Marriott, but with a separate reception lobby area connected to that hotel by a glass door. Front desk staff at the Boulevard Suites reception were genuine, lovely, helpful young people. We paid substantially less than the price currently listed by Tripadvisor thanks in part to a young lady behind a hotel counter at Santiago International Airport who recommended we contact this place (don't normally use such desks but got chatting as her booth was adjacent to our car rental counter). She reassured us that the Boulevard Suites ranked amongst the top ten Santiago properties in terms of prestige & comfort (Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Sheraton, Marriott, Intercontinental headed her list along with a few others). We were offered a suite with kitchen and one bathroom for about US$165 and a slightly larger corner suite with two bathrooms and wraparound view for US$215). Do not be put off by Boulevard Suites not being ranked inside the Tripadvisor top 20 (at time of writing this!) or by the small number of reviews posted sofar (four reviewers giving scores of 5 out of 5 speaks volumes perhaps?). One reason is likely to be that many of their suites are used as serviced apartments by expats. I was told only a small number of rooms are available for short stays at any given time. This brings some distinct advantages: Reception staff are rarely busy (not much check-in and check-out traffic), and the (three) PC workstations behind reception are always free (and available 24hrs) as the long-term residents are wired in their suites. But it also means housekeeping don't have the same sense of urgency or benchstrength you might get in a busier hotel. Rooms are comfortable/functional rather than plush but the views (in all directions) are grand. Wooden/tiled floors throughout make cleaning easy. Air-con units (one in each room) are "over-spec", i.e. thermostat and variable settings allow you to virtually refrigerate the room if you so wish. Bathrooms and kitchens are clean and modern. Breakfast is complimentary, but arrangements are peculiar: the only option offered is in-room service as the hotel has no restaurant of its own.
There have been some comments that the Las Condes section of Santiago is quite distant from the shopping/restaurant areas and even further from the historic centre of town. Whilst this is true, the area is safe, taxis are easy to come by and thanks to the Costanera Norte highway & tunnel, all parts of town are rapidly accessible. We drove our own car and found getting around town not just easy, but fun.
Travel + Leisure Magazine - By Connie McCabe, April 22, 2005 - "Santiago Cleans Up"
Santiago has long been saddled with a grim, smoggy, spiritless image, and until recently the less-than-alluring metropolis at the base of the Andes served mostly as a portal to Chile's more captivating charms, including the Atacama Desert and the ice fields of Patagonia. But take it from one who lives here -- Santiago is no longer South America's ugly duckling. For starters, those nasty traffic snarls and noxious fumes have been thwarted by a 10-year, $800 million transportation and environmental overhaul now in its final months. Today, the surprisingly clean and easy-to-access metro covers twice as many miles as it did in 2001, and landscaping has begun on 346 acres of newly created greenbelts and parks. Crumbling architectural treasures, such as the 19th-century downtown restaurant Confitería Torres, are being refurbished, further evidence of Santiago's strong investment in civic improvement. Even older neighborhoods are developing distinct personalities: the historic central barrios of Brasil, Concha y Toro, and Bellavista are lined with mid-19th- and early-20th-century mansions and hip coffeehouses; Providencia has its trendy restaurants and funky boutiques; and the green, easternmost zones Vitacura and Las Condes, often referred to as Gringolandia, are full of swank hotels and style-conscious residents. Of course, Santiago's greatest selling point remains its ideal location-ski slopes are 31 miles to the east, the Pacific is 62 miles to the west, and wineries are found in just about every direction.
Hotel in Santiago: Boulevard Suites (5749 Avda. Kennedy; 800/228-9290 or 56-2/421-5000; www.boulevardsuites.cl; doubles from $150) takes up 14 floors of the Marriott tower in the city's eastern barrio, Las Condes. The 50 oversized, minimalist apartments have dark wood floors, chrome-and-glass living rooms, fully equipped granite kitchens, and wraparound mountain views.

We rushed out of Pucón to make it to Santiago in time to see our friends. We weren´t expecting much from Santiago, being that it is a big, smoggy city, but we were quite surprised. Ours friends surprised us with our own room in a 5 star hotel called The Boulevard Suites. It was incredible! We were in the corner suite on the 29th floor so we had wonderful views out of the large windows (and we could see the Andes that day), and the room was enormous! It was a great change of pace from the hostels weacute;d been staying in for the past few weeks. Breakfast was included with the room and when they gave us the card to fill out for what we prefered, yogurt, granola, fruit, we decided weacute;d mark all three.
